W-E Recycles!
In 2007-2008, W-E restarted the recycling program to help reduce our school's environmental impact. W-E recycles used paper, aluminum cans and plastic bottles. Each classroom, office, computer lab and workroom has one or more recycling bins to collect recyclable material. All recyclables are deposited in large collection containers, located on our campus, that were provided and maintained by the Barnwell County Solid Waste Recycling Department. All recyclables are collected by the students in the homerooms of Mrs. Queen and Mrs. Roberts.
In 2008, W-E was awarded the SC DHEC Recycling Education Grant in the amount of $2485 so that we can improve our current program. All new collection containers were purchased with the money, and more innovations will follow!

We are happy to announce that we've added used ink cartridges and printer toner to our list of recyclable items. We are working with Advantage Cartridge to collect and recycle used ink cartridges and printer toners that are used in abundance at our schools. In addition to the printer supplies, this company accepts used cell phones, laptops, and i-pods. We would be happy to send these items in for you if you have them around the house. We earn a small amount of money for each item recycled, and will use the money to continue our recycling program. For a list of acceptable recyclable items: click HERE.
